Environmental Services
-
KL Environmental (KLE) is Indigenous owned and provides comprehensive environmental consulting and field services to support infrastructure, industrial, and land development projects across British Columbia.
Our services include environmental construction monitoring and inspection, erosion and sediment control (ESC) implementation, environmental management planning, permitting, fish salvage, bird sweeps, amphibian salvage and habitat restoration planning, a wildlife monitoring and more.
We work closely with contractors, developers, government agencies, and Indigenous communities to ensure projects comply with all Provincial and Federal environmental regulations, such as the Water Sustainability Act (WSA), Fisheries Act, Migratory Birds Convention Act, and Municipal bylaws.
With our COR certification, ISNetworld registration, and an outstanding safety record, KL Environmental is trusted to handle sensitive, complex, and high-profile projects. Whether it’s a highway expansion, bridge replacement, or habitat restoration initiative, we bring the experience and expertise to get the job done right — while protecting ecosystems and reducing compliance risks.
-
KL Environmental integrates directly with construction teams to ensure that environmental compliance is built into every stage of an infrastructure project.
Our services include:
Regulatory permitting support for WSA Section 11 approvals and DFO Fisheries Act authorizations.
On-site Environmental Monitors and Inspectors who ensure construction activities comply with regulations.
Wildlife and fish salvage teams to protect sensitive species.
Erosion and sediment control planning and implementation.
Environmental Project Managers that support the project.
Post-construction habitat restoration to repair and enhance ecosystems.
We’ve worked on some of BC’s most complex infrastructure projects, including the Fraser River Tunnel Project, the Surrey Langley Skytrain, Sunrise Expansion Project, Holdom Overpass, and major transportation and natural resource project upgrades throughout the province.
Our collaborative approach helps clients avoid delays, manage risk, and maintain a positive relationship with regulators and local communities. By having KL Environmental involved from the start, your project benefits from proactive compliance rather than reactive problem-solving.

Wildlife monitoring involves observing and managing interactions between construction activities and wildlife to prevent harm to species and their habitats.
It’s a critical part of environmental compliance for projects in BC, as regulators require proof that sensitive species are protected. This includes:
Identifying and documenting wildlife in and around a project area.
Ensuring construction activities don’t disturb nesting birds or sensitive habitats.
Protecting crews safety when necessary.
Reporting findings to government regulators.
KL Environmental provides highly trained Wildlife Monitors — many of whom are Indigenous partners — equipped with specialized gear and UTVs for remote access. This ensures that projects proceed safely and within compliance guidelines.
